How do you rebrand? How do you know it’s time for a rebrand?
Here are the 5 Factors That Absolutely MUST Feature In Your Decision!
Some of you may be sitting on the fence about the decision to rename.
This is a hard place to be! Several factors will weigh in on this decision;
YOUR BRAND HAS BEEN AROUND FOR Y-E-A-R-S.
Ask yourself, ‘Are we going to lose any of our current client base because of the rebrand/ rename?’ If the answer is yes, I strongly recommend you get some advice before going all in. You may want to consider partially changing the brand name, or simply reposition the brand with a new outlook and branded materials. Existing customers will need some hand-holding through this process, don’t neglect this.
FUNDS
Do you have the funds to afford a complete rebrand, AND inform customers of the change?
You cannot simply rename an existing brand without leaving something in the kitty to get the word out there.
WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE RENAMING EXERCISE?
Will this change anything? Will changing the name change the way people think about your brand? What is it that isn’t working for you at the moment? Are you going to involve staff, get people excited? Are you prepared to do it thoroughly, or only halfway? If you aren’t prepared to go all in, it’s something you should perhaps consider another time.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT HANDING OUT YOUR BUSINESS CARDS?
Directing people to your website?
How you are feeling about the brand has a big impact on your believability when you sell your brand. If you don’t believe what you’re saying, why should others?
DO YOU FEEL ANY SENSE OF PRIDE WITH YOUR CURRENT NAME AND BRANDING?
If no, a rebrand is well worth considering. You might not need a complete rename and rebrand, but a good makeover will help you pinpoint the issues that aren’t sitting right with you.
The decision to rebrand shouldn’t be made lightly. The fact is, you’ll have some level of brand equity in what you’re currently doing – the greatest question is – do you ditch the brand equity you already have in favour of something that is going to work far more efficiently for you?
If you need a hand with it, get in touch! I’d love to help!
